ေနရာေတြ စသည္တို႔ကို မၾကာခဏ ညႊန္ျပ ေျပာဆိုေရးသား ၾကရပါတယ္။ သာမန္အားျဖင့္
ေျပာရတာလြယ္ကူတယ္ ထင္ရပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမဲ့ တစ္ခါတစ္ရံ အခ်ိဳ႕ေသာ အသံုးေတြက
ဘယ္ဟာမွားတယ္၊ ဘယ္ဟာမွန္တယ္ ဆိုတာ ဆံုးျဖတ္ရ ခက္တတ္ပါတယ္။ အခ်ိန္နဲ႔ဆိုင္တဲ့
အသံုးေတြထဲက နံနက္ပိုင္း (morning)

အသံုးတစ္ခ်ိဳ႕ကို တင္ျပလုိက္ပါတယ္။
ျမန္မာစကားမွာ ေန႔နဲ႔ညဆိုျပီး ေနေရာင္ကို ၾကည့္ျပီး အခ်ိန္ကို အၾကမ္းဖ်ဥ္း ပိုင္းျခား ေျပာဆိုပါတယ္။ ေန႔တစ္ေန႔ကို ပိုင္းၾကည့္မယ္ဆိုရင္ မနက္(morning)၊ မြန္းတည့္ (noon)၊ ေန႔လည္ (afternoon) နွင့္ ညေန(evening) ဆိုျပီး ရွိမွာပါ။ အဲ့ဒီအထဲမွာ noon ကလြဲရင္ က်န္တာေတြမွာ အခ်ိန္အပုိင္းအျခား သတ္မွတ္ထားျပီး ကာလတစ္ခု ၾကာရွည္ပါတယ္။ noon က မြန္းတည့္ခ်ိန္ တစ္ခ်ိန္(အခ်ိ္န္တိုကေလး)သာ ၾကာျမင့္ပါတယ္။
Morning ဆိုတဲ့ မနက္ခင္းကေတာ့ သင္အိပ္ယာမွ နိုးထတဲ့အခ်ိန္ ဒါမွမဟုတ္ ေကာင္းကင္မွာ အလင္းေရာင္ စျမင္ရတဲ့ အခ်ိ္န္ကေန မြန္းတည့္အခ်ိန္ (noon) အထိ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
Morning ကို စကားထဲမွာ လက္ရွိ ေျပာေနတဲ့ ေန႔ရဲ့ မနက္ကို ညႊန္ျပီး ေျပာမယ္ဆိုရင္ this morning လို႔ ေျပာပါတယ္။ “in this morning” လို႔ ‘in’ ထည့္ျပီး မေျပာရဘူးေနာ္။

သင္ေျပာေနတာ မေန႔က မနက္ကိုဆိုရင္ yesterday morning လို႔ ေျပာရတယ္။ အလားတူဘဲ မနက္ျဖန္မနက္ကို ေျပာရင္ tomorrow morning သို႔မဟုတ္ in the morning လို႔ ေျပာရတယ္။

တစ္ခါတစ္ရံ morning ကို သံုးရင္ ေရွ႕က preposition ‘in’ ထည့္ရမလား ‘on’ ထည့္ရမလား ေဝခြဲ မရ ျဖစ္တတ္ပါတယ္။ အတိတ္ကာလက ရက္တစ္ရက္ရဲ့ မနက္ခင္းမွာ ျဖစ္ခဲ့တဲ့ ကိစၥတစ္ခုအေၾကာင္းကို ေျပာရင္ ‘on’ ကိုသံုးရပါတယ္။

ေန႔တစ္ေန႔ရဲ့ တစ္မနက္မွာျဖစ္တဲ့ အတိတ္ကာလက အေၾကာင္းအရာကို သရုပ္ေဖၚ (describe) ရင္ that morning သို႔မဟုတ္ in the morning လို႔ သံုးရတယ္။

မေန႔က မတိုင္ခင္ ျပီးခဲ့တဲ့ေန႔ ရဲ့ မနက္တုန္းက (တစ္ေန႔မနက္က) ျဖစ္ပ်က္ခဲ့တာကို ေျပာခ်င္ရင္ the previous morning လို႔ေျပာရတယ္။
ဒီကေန႔ မနက္က (this morning)၊ မေန႔မနက္က (yesterday morning)၊ တစ္ေန႔မနက္က (the previous morning) စသည္ျဖင့္ေပါ့။

အတိတ္ကာလမွာ တစ္စံုတစ္ခု ျဖစ္ခဲ့တာကို ေျပာရာမွာ ေနာက္တစ္ေန႔ မနက္ကိုေတာ့ ဒီလိုေတြ ေျပာရတယ္။ the next morning / in the morning / next morning သို႔မဟုတ္ the following morning တို႔ ျဖစ္တယ္။

တစ္စံုတစ္ခုက မနက္တိုင္း ပံုမွန္ ျဖစ္ေလ့ရွိတာ (ျဖစ္ေလ့ရွိခဲ့တာ) ကို ေျပာခ်င္ရင္ in the morning လို႔ ေျပာလို႔ရသလုိ plural form နဲ႔ in the mornings လုိ႔ပါ ေျပာလို႔ရတယ္။

နာရီ အခ်ိန္ေတြကို ေျပာတဲ့အခါ မနက္ပိုင္းနဲ႔ ညပိုင္းကို am/pm တို႔နဲ႔ ခြဲျခား ေျပာရပါတယ္။ ဒါမွသာလွ်င္ ကိုယ္ေျပာတဲ့အခ်ိန္က မနက္ပိုင္းလား၊ ညေန သို႔မဟုတ္ ညပိုင္းလား ဆိုတာ ေပၚလြင္မွာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ စာ သို႔မဟုတ္ စကားမွာ အခ်ိန္ကို ေျပာျပီးရင္ in the morning ကို ထည့္ ေျပာရတယ္။ (အလားတူဘဲ in the afternoon တို႔ in the evening စသည္ျဖင့္ ခြဲ ေျပာရတယ္။)
