အဂၤလိပ္ဘာသာျဖင့္ အၾကံျပဳျခင္း

အၾကံျပဳျခင္း၊ အၾကံဉာဏ္ေတာင္းခံျခင္းမ်ားကို Let's, Why don't, Shall I/We စသည့္အသုံးအႏွုန္းမ်ားကိုသုံး၍ ေျပာဆိုေရးသားႏိုင္ပါသည္။

(a) Let's

Let's သည္ Let us ၏ (contraction) အတိုေခါက္ျဖစ္ပါသည္။

တစုံတခုကို ျပဳလုပ္ရန္ အၾကံျပဳရာတြင္ သို႕မဟုတ္ အေဖာ္ညွိရာတြင္ သုံးပါသည္။

§  eg. Let's go to a movie. (ရုပ္ရွင္သြားၾကည့္ရေအာင္။)

(b) Let's not

Let's not သည္ Let's ၏ negative (အျငင္း) အဓိပၸာယ္ေဆာင္ေသာ အသုံးျဖစ္ပါသည္။

§  eg. Let's not go to a movie. Let's stay home instead. (ရုပ္ရွင္သြားမၾကည့္ပဲ အိမ္မွာပဲေနၾကရေအာင္။)

(c) Why don't we .......?

"Why don't we" ကို ရင္းႏွီးေသာအၾကံျပဳခ်က္ေပးလိုေသာအခါ စကားေျပာတြင္ (Spoken English) သုံးပါသည္။

§  eg. Why don't we go to a movie? သည္ Let's go to a movie ႏွင့္အဓိပၸာယ္တူပါသည္။

အသုံးသာကြဲပါသည္။ "ဒို႕တေတြရုပ္ရွင္သြားၾကည့္ၾကရေအာင္" ဟုအေဖာ္ညွိစကားဆိုသကဲ့သို႕ ျဖစ္ပါသည္။

(d) Why don't you .......?

Why don't you ကိုမိမိကသူတပါးအား အၾကံျပဳရာတြင္သုံးပါသည္။

§  eg. Why don't you come around seven? (၇ နာရီေလာက္မ်ား လာမလား။)

(e) Why don't I ......?

‘Why don't I’ ကိုမိမိျပဳလုပ္လိုေသာ ကိစၥတခုအၾကံထုတ္ရာတြင္ သုံးပါသည္။

§  eg. Why don't I do the reading before writing? (စာေရးတာကို စာဖတ္တာအရင္လုပ္ရင္ေကာင္းမလား။)

မိမိျပဳလုပ္မည့္အၾကံကို သူတပါးထံမွသေဘာတူညီမႈရယူလိုေသာအခါတြင္လည္း သုံးပါသည္။

§  eg. Why don't I give Mary a call? ဟူသည့္ဝါက်သည္ Should I give Mary a call? Do you agree with my suggestion? ဟူသည့္ အဓိပၸာယ္ကိုေဆာင္ပါသည္။

(f) Shall I/ Shall We.......?

Shall ကို I သို႕မဟုတ္ We ႏွင့္တြဲ၍ ေမးခြန္းဝါက်အျဖစ္သုံးပါက၊ ထိုဝါက်ကိုေျပာသူ speaker သည္ သူတပါးထံမွ အၾကံဉာဏ္ေတာင္းခံျခင္းျဖစ္ပါသည္။

§  eg. Shall I open the window? Is that okay with you? (ျပတင္းေပါက္ဖြင့္လိုက္ရမလား။ ဖြင့္လိုက္ရင္အဆင္ေျပမလား။)

§  Shall we leave at two? Is that okay? (ႏွစ္နာရီမွာ ျပန္ၾကမလား။ အဲဒီလို အဆင္ေျပလား။)

Shall I/ Shall we ကို သာမာန္စကားေျပာရာတြင္မဟုတ္ဘဲ အခန္႕သုံးေသာအခါမ်ိဳးတြင္ေျပာေလ့ရွိပါသည္။ Formal English ျဖစ္ပါသည္။

(g) Shall we............?

Shall we ကိုတခါတရံတြင္ tag question အျဖစ္ "Let's ....." ဝါက်အဆုံးတြင္ အၾကံဉာဏ္ေတာင္းခံရာ၌သုံးပါသည္။

§  eg. Let's go, shall we?

Let's go, shall we? tag questionသည္ Let's go, okay ႏွင့္အဓိပၸာယ္တူပါသည္။

သို႕ရာတြင္ Let's go, shall we? သည္ အခန္႕သုံး formal usage ျဖစ္ျပီး Let's go, okay သည္ informal ျဖစ္၍ရင္းႏွီးခင္မင္သူမ်ားႏွင့္ သုံးပါသည္။

A ႏွင့္ B စကားေျပာဆိုအၾကံျပဳၾကပုံကို၎တို႕၏ dialogue ၌ Let's, Let's not, Why don't, How about/ What about စသည့္usage မ်ားျဖင့္ သုံးၾကည့္ၾကရေအာင္။

Dialogue

A. A new Japanese restaurant opened downtown. Let's __________.

B. Great idea! I'd like some good sushi.

A. Why don't __________? Make it for about 7:30.

B. Let's not ____________. __________ 8:00? I"ll be working till 7:30 tonight.

ကြက္လပ္ျဖည့္ေျဖဆိုပါျပီးပါက အေျဖကို Answer keyႏွင့္ညွိပါ။

A. A new Japanese restaurant opened downtown. Let's eat there tonight.

B. Great idea! I'd like some good sushi.

A. Why don't you call and make a reservation? Make it for about 7:30.

B. Let's not make it at 7:30. How about/ What about 8:00? I"ll be working till 7:30 tonight.
