(1) As well as ဟာ not only..but also နဲ့ ဆင်တူတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ရှိပါတယ်

As well as has a similar meaning to 'not only ... but also’

(1.1) She’s got a goat, as well as five cats and three dogs.

သူ့မှာ ဆိတ်တစ်ကောင် ရှိသလိုပဲ ကြောင်းငါးကောင်နဲ့ ခွေးသုံးကောင်လည်း ရှိပါတယ်

(1.2) He’s clever as well as nice. (= He’s not only nice, but also clever.)

သူက တော်လည်းတော်ပါတယ် သဘောလည်းကောင်းပါတယ်

(1.3) She works in television as well as writing children’s books.

သူမဟာ ရုပ်မြင်သံကြားလုပ်ငန်းမှာ အလုပ်လုပ်သလိုပဲ ကလေးတွေဖတ်ဖို့ စာအုပ်တွေလည်း ရေးပါတယ်

(2) ဖတ်သူ(သို့) နားထောင်သူ သိပြီးသား အချက်အလက်တွေ ရှိတဲ့ဖက်မှာ as well as ကို ထားရပါတယ်

When some information is already known to the listener/reader, we put this 

with as well as.

(2.1)As well as birds, some mammals can fly.(not Birds can fly, as well as some

mammals.)

ငှက်တွေကဲ့သို့ အချို့သော နို့်တိုက်သတ္တဝါများဟာလည်း ပျံသန်းနိုင်ကြပါတယ်

(ငှက်တွေပျံနိုင်တာက သိပြီးသားမို့ as well as နဲ့တွဲထားပါတယ်)

(2.2) They speak French in parts of Italy as well as France. ( not ..They speak

French in France as well as parts of Italy.)

ပြင်သစ်မှာလိုပဲ အီတလီရဲ့ အစိတ်အပိုင်းနေရာများမှာ ပြင်သစ်စကားကို ပြောကြပါတယ်

(ပြင်သစ်နိုင်ငံမှာ ပြင်သစ်စကားပြောတာ သိပြီးသားပေါ့ ၊ ဒါကြောင့် as well as နဲ့ France နဲ့တွဲထားပါတယ်)

(3) As well as နောက်က verb ကို -ing ပေါင်းပြီး မကြာခဏ သုံးလေ့ရှိပါတယ်

When we put a verb after as well as, we most often use the -ing form.

(3.1) Smoking is dangerous, as well as MAKING you smell bad. (not ... as well as it makes you smell bad.)

ဆေးလိပ်သောက်ခြင်းဟာ အန ္တရာယ်ရှိရုံမျှသာမကပဲ သင့်ကို အနံ့ဆိုးလည်း ဖြစ်ပေါ်စေပါတယ်

(3.2) As well as BREAKING his leg, he hurt his arm. (not ... as well as he broke his

leg, ...)

သူ့ခြေထောက်ကို ချိုးရုံမျှသာမက သူ့ရဲ့လက်ကိုလည်းပဲ အနာတရ ဖြစ်စေအာင် လုပ်ပါတယ်

(4) ပင်မ ဝါကျပိုင်းမှာ infinitive (to + V1) ရှိလျှင် ကျန်ဝါကျပိုင်းမှာ to မပါတော့လျှင်လည်း ရနိုင်ပါတယ်

After an infinitive in the main clause, an infinitive without to is possible.

ကျနော်က တိရစ္ဆာန်တွေကို အစာကျွေးရသလိုပဲ ကလေးတွေကိုလည်း ပြုစုစောင့်ရှောက်ရပါတယ်

(5) as well as ဆက်တဲ့ပုံစံဟာ as + adj/adv + as ပုံစံနဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ကွာခြားပုံကို သတိပြုမှတ်သားပါ (Note the difference between: )

သူမဟာ စန္ဒယားတီးရုံတွင်သာမကဘဲ သီချင်းလည်းဆိုပါတယ်

(အဖြစ်အပျက်က နှစ်ခု ၊ စန္ဒယားတီးနေစဉ်မှာ သီချင်းဆိုတယ်)

(5.2) She sings as well as she plays the piano. (= Her singing is as good as her playing.)

သူမ သီချင်းဆိုကောင်းတာက စန္ဒယားတီးကောင်းသလိုပဲ ကောင်းပါတယ်

(သီချင်းပဲ ဆိုတာကို စန္ဒယားတီးကောင်းတာနဲ့ ဂုဏ်ရည်ချင်း ထပ်တူပြု ညွှန်းဆိုတာ)
